A new study from comScore shows that myspace isn't just for the high school set any more.
(From a purely IA perspective, I think myspace blows goats, and I can't get through it.)
Thanks to the fabulous Mark Rovner from Sea Change Strategies for the heads-up on the study.
My friend, sweet Chris, has recently launched Egg Disk, a service whereby you can upload and store files, and access them from anywhere with a web gonneggtion. Scramble that!
Reminds me of X Drive, which came in handy when I wanted to apply for jobs, and needed quick and dirty access to my resume. I plan on using my account for storing pictures I wanted to share with my family.
My job is quickly winding down, so I'm in the process of cleaning out my inbox. I found a link to a great site that my coworker sent to me over a year ago. TechInterview.org gives out brain teasers that may be asked during a technical (programming) interview to show a candidate's thought process and ability to think analytically.
Here is my favorite:
you are presented with three doors (door 1, door 2, door 3). one door has a million dollars behind it. the other two have goats behind them. you do not know ahead of time what is behind any of the doors.
monty asks you to choose a door. you pick one of the doors and announce it. monty then counters by showing you one of the doors with a goat behind it and asks you if you would like to keep the door you chose, or switch to the other unknown door.
should you switch? if so, why? what is the probability if you don't switch? what is the probability if you do.
lots of people have heard this problem.. so just knowing what to do isn't sufficient. its the explanation that counts.
If you're not reading Signal vs Noise, the blog from the badass Ruby on Rails ninjas at 37 Signals, you should.
In addition to learning about what's at the forefront of web development and trends, the ninjas are also great debunkers. For example, don't believe the Digg hype.
Feel the love that is CSS at CSS Beauty!
The peeps at hosting company TextDrive make me sublimely happy with The Daily Oliver, a daily pic of their sweet, sweet pup.
. . . I would go to Adaptive Path's User Experience Week here in fair DC. Instead, a contact of mine is hooking me up with an invite to the happy hour, so I can at least meet people with my dream job.
If you're in to IA/usability/user experience, drool with me over the agenda.
Veer is rad.
A List Apart has a badass overview of revision control software.
Woman, the time this would have saved me.
