When I saw Steve Jobs do the demo of the iPhone last month, and drag his fingers around to zoom in/out on photos, I immediately thought of this guy and thought it was an example of "prior art" - as they say in patent lawyer speak. Meaning, Apple shouldn't be able to patent their multi-finger touch gestures on the iPhone, like they said they had done. A couple weeks later, I learned that Apple bought this guy's company!
